Traditional dental crowns require several visits to the office. At the first appointment, the tooth is prepared for a crown. A mold is taken of the tooth and it is sent off to the lab to be made within approximately two weeks. A temporary crown is placed until the permanent tooth comes in, and then the patient comes back to have the permanent crown fitted.
CEREC® crowns are designed to cut back on the time you must spend at the dentist. With a special machine, all procedures can be finished in one single appointment. Rather than sending the mold out to a lab, we take a digital impression and the crown is created in office. No temporary crown is necessary, and the procedure is non-invasive.
